If you’ve been putting it off, here’s your friendly reminder to clean your refrigerator/freezer coils. You can save about 6% of your refrigerator energy use by doing this simple (be it slightly hard on the knees) task. I found a shopvac with the corner attachment seemed to work the best. Also being excited about it may cause a child or two to be interested enough to come and help although YMMV. You’re supposed to clean them once or twice a year but I think I (yes, the picture is of ours) waited a little too long since we have 4 four-legged hairballs walking around our house.
Using less energy (which means saving money and the environment) works for me.

6%? I had no idea, but I do know I’m more than a little afraid to go see how bad ours is. Still, 6%…

Sounds like something that needs to be done around here!

I’ve never thought of that, thanks for the tip!

I’m sure I needed to know this, and should definitely take care of it right away, but do you have any idea how much I don’t want to climb around on my knees on the tile floor by my fridge right now?! Thanks, I think. 8^)
