Hmm, very parent heavy this week. I guess lifehacker was slacking this week. Here’s the top 5 things I found on the web that you may or may not have also read:
- Shannon realizes that there’s no way to look like a good parent while talking to poison control. Don’t worry, everyone’s OK. Having had a preschooler decide that Tumbs looked like a pretty good candy, I can relate.
- Brett has some tips to teach your kid to be a little less self centered since apparently generation Yers are pretty egotistical. Go add some of your own tips.
- Rob is a new dad of twins. He’s learning his new role with the primary one being teaching his new kids how to burp. I’d add wrestling with them to the chores when they are a little older.
- In a bad mood? Go watch this kid laugh for a few minutes. I guarantee you’ll be happier or your money back (hat tip Strollerderby).
- Chicken Soup for the Adopted Soul is looking for entries. All you people that write better than me (or is it I) should enter. On the off chance you think I’m cut out to be published in something that doesn’t have the picture of a micro-organism on the cover, please suggest a post I could make into an article for entry (thanks to Shannon for the heads up).
OK, one more because I want to try out this collaborative white board site. Go to this Skrbl page and add anything you want. You should be able to see everything everyone else has added as well (I think its in real time, so you may see stuff added while you’re there). You might want to skip it if you’re on dial up; it’s a little slow on our T4 connection in the lab. It seems pretty cool, although I’m not sure for what. Perhaps as a electronic note board between parents on different computers?

Check out Avery’s drawing on the skrbl page. He’s a pretty good artist. Also it looks like you can move down and left if you need more space.

Hey I wanted to say thanks for the tips on blocking Snap. That’s what I love about blogs, there’s always someone out there with a tip to help.

Thanks for your comment, I responded to it on my comments thread but wanted to respond back to you directly because I had worried about just such a snub occurring. here’s what I said:
Good comment, Brian, yes there are parenting blogs by Dads in there. I’ve included all I could find, I’m afraid you’ve caught me in a semantics problem. I could have said “Parenting blogs” but that wasn’t entirely accurate either as many momblogs aren’t about parenting or motherhood. “Momblog” has come to describe blogs by women of any kind.
“Momblogs and Dadblogs” would work but was long and unwieldy. I went back and forth about what to call it and settled on Momblogs simply because it was the most descriptive term that would also be easy to remember and identify.
But I can see your point. If you have blogs by dads that aren’t included, especially if you have a list of them, I’d love to have them and make sure they’re included. They aren’t as well represented in blog rings as momblogs are and are harder to find.

Hi – I just found a very useful web site – kaboodle.com
I shop some sites that don’t offer wish lists and kaboodle gives one an easy way to creat wish lists, and other lists as you need. I am a list kind of person so love this site.
Also, I am working on learning digital scrapbooking and am starting some Ethiopia/adoption related pages. I recently completed a page called Dear Aftama – a letter to my daughter’s Ethiopian mom. I thought others may like to see it. I am also wondering if there is interest in the community for a lifebook digi scrapbook forum – I was going to start one at the digi scrap site I use. I was going to send you the link but the gallery is closed temporarily for maintainance. GO to digitalscrapbookplace.com, look for gallery and then search for sssnoo and you will find my gallery and the LO.
Don’t know if this is helpful, but perhaps.
