I got an e-mail at 4:59 from the managing editor. It asked me what I thought of this guy since I'll be doing the editing....clearly the e-mail wasn't supposed to go to me but to the biotech editor who first contacted me. The job description had "sense of humor" (sounds perfect for me, doesn't it?) as one of the requirements, so I shot off something funny and pointed out that the e-mail probably wasn't meant for me. So I guess that's a good sign since the first guy seemed to like me. I wish I knew the pay. All this stress could be for nothing. Spoke too soon. I got an e-mail at 4:59 from the managing editor. This turns out be be exactly like it was waiting for our adoption referral. At the end of the day I wasn't as much disappointed that we hadn't gotten the referral so much as relieved that I didn't have to think about it (as much) until the next day. It’s 5:00 on the East coast were they’re headquartered, so I guess I can stop stressing and have a relaxing weekend…or at least try.
